Default NEED INPUT ON SOUND........

difference between the VR and the XR (JL front componet speakers). The reason for this, is that the installers accidently installed the VR and not the XR (human error, someone had a bad day). Since I never heard either one before now, is there really that much sound quality difference between the 2? They offered to replace the speakers to what I ordered or refund the difference if I decide to keep them. I like the current setup but feel I have to boost the treble (to 4) to get more clarity (remove some of the muddyness out of it). The system is very tight and gets ball breaking loud with lot's of punch if you want it to. I'm happy with the system the way it is but would make the change if there is a noticeable sound difference between the 2. Need input. Thanks

Haven't heard the VR but they are a much lower line of speaker from JL. Personally, I don't even like the XR but for the money they are pretty good. I'd get them to put in what you paid for.

If your componetns dont sound perfectly clear and powerful at 0 bass, 0 mid, 0 trebble then..

1) tuning issues
or
2) install issues
or
3) need better components
or
4) need more power

for the cost of all 4 speakers you could have had a single pair of high end speakers that would sound zounds better (to most people) ... I learned that lesson the hard way.
