Focal Utopia 165w- bought at "wholesale" price of $500 (lists over $1100)
IDQ10 Sub $200
ARC2050 amp $300 (Should have bought a second 2100 :( )
ARC2100 amp $400
Clarion HX-D10 head $299 (lists $699)
Alpine Parametric EQ (Free)

Plus gashloads of other stuff to make it all work together. At least $200 in "install parts."

Sound is in-zarking-credible. Now if only I cuold sound deaden the car.

Here's a video of the 165W woofer working, it's a 6.5

I'm curious how you spent $4000 on that set up...

All the JL sep's I've seen were fairly inexpensive. ($299 for JLXR650's for example) Great seperates for the cash.

Are the subs W7's? They don't look it. Maybe W3's?

Was most of it spent on install/fab work?

How do you like the mmatts stuff?

$3000 if you want it installed at a shop. I did it for under $1000 because I inherited some of the components and got deals on others. I also did all the installation and custom box building.

O.K.,here we go.....
....Take in consideratrion on the following that the prices may have come down some since my install on my 1998 Coupe.

ECLIPSE CD8051 HU: $400.00
JL FRONT SEP. XR: $280.00
JL REAR COAX. XR: $230.00

JL 12W3 12" SUBS (2) $250.00 EACH

MMATS LM2125 (2) $500.00 EACH <--- (still priced high)

MMATS LM4065 4 CH: 600.00 <--- (still priced high)

MONSTER CABLE RCA'S: (3) APPROX. $60.00 EACH @ 12FT

OPTIMA YELLOW TOP BATTERY: $189.00

I installed the system myself (saving alot of $$$) however, I did not do the custom fiberglass box ($500.00) or the vinyl panals ($600.00).
This amount also does not include the speaker wire, material for templates (doors) distribution blocks, remote relay, connections etc...

So that roughly brings it to $4,299.00 +

Now, if you included the above misc. items and labor for install. you could probably add another $800.00 <--- approx.

BOOOO YAAAAAAAAAH! THERE YOU GO!

Granted I am not a bargain shopper....you might be able to get it cheaper somewhere else or maybe more depending on where you live and shop.

To answer you last question: The mmats professional audio in my book is quality stuff!

LETS FACE IT, IF YOU WANT IT DONE RIGHT AND GOOD ELECTRONICS, YOUR GONNA PAY FOR IT!

I have 5k in it now, but another 5k when my motor gets done. I am adding a 6 point roll cage, mounting my 3 JL amps to the cage, adding 2 monitors, PS2, and XM

One in the front (deck) then mounting another to the roll cage in the rear.

I have a pretty darn accurate running total up to yesterday morning @ 0935 when I bought a JL Audio 300/4 to replace the Pioneer multi-channel. Since my wife started nagging a bit after the Alpine CDA-7998, I decided to grab all of the receipts that I have for the project. I am quite **** about stuff and I have every receipt you can imagine. I still have all of my LES's from 15 years of service... :flag

This is the cost right down to the cost of a drill bit. Not including the rockwool. That was all free but I could put a price tag on it if necessary. I would guess that it is about $41 per square foot. Go figure that...hehe...

I am currently at... $3940.49
And to think that my entire odyssey began with a Pioneer HU that my wife won as a door prize from the Army/Air Force Exhange...(was FUBAR).. explains why they let it go for free.... bastidges...hehe :mad

Doing my system was like one big snowball.... One amp led to two and then new speakers throughout and then a new sub and now new JL amps... I hope that I am through... :blueangel:

I do sport major wood in Car Toys and Magnolia Hi-Fi... :D

roughly about $500.

Sony HU
1 Sony 2 channel amp @ 100watts per channel
1 Alpine amp, 4 channels @ 80 watss per channel
2 12" Kicker competition subs
2 Pioneer 3 way 6"X9" for mids and highs. These pioneers are only temporary.

Installation was done by me, with help from a few of the audio gurus in here.
92TripleBlack and The^Nomad. Thanks guys.
