Install tips and setup ideas for Alpine CDA-7998

I was pondering getting the CDA-7998 yesterday afternoon after conversation about staging and what not. I decided to stop yesterday evening at Car Toys and grab one. Was a bit pricey but I am hoping that it is worth it. It should be!!!! :yesnod:

I put in the JVC LDH-1000 two weekends ago and it just didn't sound right or decent for that matter. :U I will pull it out this weekend and return it to the store on Sunday.

Now my question of the day. Are there any tips for the install and for the configuration. I was thumbing through the owners manual last night and it is quite formidable.

1. What do I need to make my Nokia phone work with it and how do I set it up. I do not see any instructions for it really. It tells how to make the settings on the HU but nothing on how to do it in the car.

2. Where should I mount the rather large DC/DC converter box? It says to not mount it behind the stereo or cross the audio wires. I can understand that but how do I do that. I ran the power down the passenger side and the interconnects down the driver side. I do not see too many remaining options. Right down the middle...wouldn't be prudent :jester

The dealer that sold it to me hyped up the Nokia interface, turns out that it is not available yet from Alpine and may be till year end.

Can't give any advice on the install, had it done for me (poorly the first time, nicely the second and it only cost me $400 for the work) :cuss
