Radio skips stations on own/tap dash and it returns

My original Bose radio in my 87 will occassionally jump off the station it's tuned to. Has anyone experienced same. Is there a cheap fix without paying for a complete rebuild or replacement...?

87-2NV,
I picked up an 87 two weeks ago and mine is doing the same thing. All of a sudden it will lose the station and I can hit another station button and I can usually get that ok (but sometimes I can't get any stations). Next time I start the car, it's ok...for a while.

My fix is a Pioneer CD system on it's way and new speakers! The Bose stuff goes into a box in case I ever sell the car.

There are several connectors in the radio that connect the front panel controls to the radio circuit board. These connectors need to be disconnected and cleaned and plugged back in and the radio re-installed.

Thanks "jfb" I'll take it out and try cleaning the connections inside this week.
