Default Possibility of using OEM 12 Disc changer with aftermarket HU????

I am wondering, now that I have the new JVC head unit installed and my car came with the 12 disc changer is it possible to hook that up to the head unit? I imagine that I have to rewire it to a plug that connects to the aux in on the HU. Is this possible or should I just scrap the idea and buy an aftermarket CD changer as well? Please advise. I am qualified in mini/micro mini repair and if it can be done I will make my own harness/plug for the connection.

The only other head units that the stock GM changer will only work with are SOME of the Rockford Fosgate units. They are the only other manufacturer to use the GM control bus ("E&C" bus). That is because the Rockford head units are made (subcontracted to) in the Delco radio factory in Mexico.

Nope! some changers components operate on different voltages that may or may not be compatible with the headunit not to mention the different head unit functions.

And you don't want a Delco/Fosgate HU. :nonod:
I would prefer to buy an aftermarket changer or if you don't have the money I would prefer to just stick CD's in one at a time. :D
