My radio gets louder the faster I go???

I have a 92 that has the original Bose system and when I start going faster the radio gets louder. Can anyone explain this?

It's called speed controlled volume, just like you said the faster you go the louder the radio gets in a comparable manner.

There's a couple settings, one is regular, another is for when you have the top off. You can turn it off too. Its the knob on the top left, I think its labeled "SCV"

Three settings. Closed cockpit=setting 1, open windows=setting two, roof off= setting 3

My 98 coupe has it and the first time I went 150 it scared the SH%# out of me.. I thought something was wrong with the car. :eek: :eek: :crazy: The radio was already up pretty loud. At 150 it was over driving the speakers like crazy!

I figured out what was happening soon after. ENJOY!!

Yep Speed Compensated Volume. It's supposed to make up for increased road noise and engine noise. The idea is to set it at the highest level that you can't tell it is getting louder at. Good in theory, in practice????
