System got installed about a week and a half ago and it rocks!
Eclipse CD5442 HU
AudioControl EQS
JL 12W3
DynAudio 240 MK II Components
Phoenix Gold QX4150 (running components)
Phoenix Gold QX2350 (running sub)
Dynamat in the doors and trunk
Viper Alarm
The only issue with the system right now is the amps need to be upgraded. The 4150 clips at a much lower volume than the DynAudios can handle. In the next week or so, I'll be replacing the PGs with JL amps. A 300/2 for the components and either a 250/1 or a bridged 300/2 for the sub.
I wanted as factory looking as I could. We got lucky and found basically the exact same carpet. Texture is a little different, but the color is right on. We also opted to keep the Bose door grills.
No cover on the amp rack...We thought about it but then decided that it would probably get too hot...As it is, those PGs run warm...Actually, the 4150 gets almost too hot to touch. Another reason why I'm replacing it...The JL amps run MUCH cooler.
btw....Realize I was remiss in my original post...I helped design the system, but I did NOT do the actual install. All that credit goes to http://www.stereorama.com ...

How hard does the JL sub hit? ... I am planning on ordering the 10W3v2(2002 model) ... and run it with the 500/5's sub channel (250WRMS) ...
Pretty damn hard...But keep in mind that if you're going for a bumper, it won't do it...It's an excellent sub for an SQ setup, but if you're looking SPL, look elsewhere.
I generally play rock, metal and techno and the single 12 is sufficient for all of it. It'll especially kick once I replace the PG amps with the JLs.
One thing to mention...we put a ton of Dynamat in the car...In the doors and all around the sub enclosure. It helped alot and I'd recommend doing it. If you do, be warned that it will change how your car sounds when you're driving it. It cut out so much road noise from the rear and basically changed the way the car sounded, that at first I thought it wasn't running right. I've also got the gain all the way down on my sub amp. It can easily be turned up to the point where the 12 drowns out everything else.
I'd seriously consider the 12w3. I looked at the 10s (my old car had a pair of 10w4s), but didn't feel that a single 10 would be enough to match the DynAudios in the front. The JL stealthbox only takes the 10w3, but any compentant shop will be able to make an enclosure for the 12. We did mine out of fiberglass to get as much volume as possible.
Another bit of opinion...the rear is absolutely not necessary. I've just got the front Dyns and noone believes me when I tell them there are no rears. You will not be able to tell a difference.
As for the plate...I'm not sure who the manufacturer was. I know the first one the shop tried looked like crap so the switched to this one. I can find out if you want.

I do not plan to put in any rears, I bought the 500/5 for an all in one solution, 100WRMS to each door, 250 to the sub ...
I'm swapping the amps out next week. Gonna be replacing them with a JL 300/2 for the Dyns and a 250/1 for the sub. Can't wait to get them in...Then I'll really be able to crank it!

Nice install!
I wonder where a guy could pick up that cloth that is over your sub? I am doing my own install and that is exactly what I am looking for for my 10". Consider yourself lucky that you have a C5 coupe. My old C3 has about half of the horizontal space and less than half of the vertical space you have in the back :( .Thanks for the inspiring pics.
