lol bad to the bone!
i do have a problem with inserting discs. i guess it was supposed to sit out a little further and it wont fold down to insert a disc. its hitting the dash. i used the slots in the mounting bracket to make it sit further into the dash because it looked better that way. i dont use cd's anymore anyways

I'm with you, IPod, but have music video disc I keep in the unit, cause it also plays DVD, mostly IPod, even when I installed unit I installed Sirius receiver I never activated.

Are you looking at using the 4000NEX as your navigation unit when the firmware upgrade to use Apple CarPlay comes out? How satisfied are you with the unit?

i had no idea any kind of update was coming out. ill look into that but i just use my phone for nav. i dont have the right cord to plug my galaxy s4 to the radio for the apps so i just stream the directions thru bluetooth. i am happy with it tho. i just put a new splash screen yesterday from the avic thread here.

This is the unit I have had my eye on as well. I think with the right cord for my iphone I can mirror the gps on my phone so I didn't think it is necessary to jump up to the nav models.

I have read and heard nothing but great things about the unit.

I think that I'm going to go with this unit once the Apple CarPlay comes out and I see some reviews. Just want to make sure that it actually gets rolled out and that it works well.

Here's an interesting article on the Pioneer / Apple integration effort. Looks like Pioneer is committed to releasing Carplay for the NEX units. I'm looking at a 5000NEX. Anyone have it installed?

Hey I just bought one of those last week! I'm going to install it next week. It also looks like the Kenwood guy may be using the proclip Garmin mounting solution which is what I opted to use as well.

Can you stream music from your phone or use Pandora or use XM radio when you are using Maps (or other navigation program on your phone)?

I saw in a review about AppRadio that if you are using Waze or Maps you can't stream music?

Would you guys mind posting some pics of how your USB and HDMI cables are installed and connected to your phone? I'm about to put in an AVIC 8000NEX and need some good ideas. Also where/how did you mount the microphone?

Thanks!

Would like to see the cabling too. I'm real close to pulling the trigger on this to replace my current Pioneer 4300DVD head unit. Just want to make sure that it is worth the upgrade.

Behind/in the center air vent. Works great.
Just turn the ac/heat off when making a phone call or your caller
will get some noise on their end.

Just bought this unit. Was looking at several Kenwoods and Pioneers and then the audio/video guy took me over to this unit. Holy smokes! I may end up having him run both cameras - front and back as well. For now I'll just use the unit as it. Install in 2 weeks - it wasn't in stock.

The ability for my car to become an iphone was just too easy. LOVE the fact that i can get everything there, text msg readouts, sends, full iphone contacts, same maps i am use to using, etc....

SIRI is my BITCH!
