Default C6 Bose door speaker

My 2005 passenger door Bose speaker does not work, the tweeter does. I was told that the speaker has a built in amp. Is that correct? What do you guys think my most likely problem is? I'm not trying to improve the sound just make what I have work.

That speaker is expensive ($275) Is there any way to confirm that it is the problem before buying a new one? No sound comes out of it at all.

Swap the two subs from door to door, that will definitely tell you if it's the sub assembly itself or not. If you're lucky they may even both work after the swap.

C6 prints are HERE if you need them.

You can prob find a takeoff set in this section for much less than $275 if you can wait.

You can buy the speakers on ebay for about $75 each or less.

Default I asked the question

But never got an answer, so here it is. I used a Kenwood 6980 radio to
drive the door and rear speakers (aftermarket speakers). Left the door
subs hooked to the bose amp. Results it sounds great.
The rear speakers are mono so you have to split them and run new wires to make them stereo.
The new radio has enough adjustments so I have all the bass I want.
Oh, disconnected the center channel and now much better separation.

I finally got around to taking the door panel off and checking the speaker. The cable was not connected to the speaker. I think it might have been that way from the factory because the connector has a latch and it couldn't just back out. Had trouble getting the door panel back on though and I'm not sure the top of the panel is on correct. But I'm glad I didn't have to buy a new speaker or worse.
