I have a 96 coupe with the Bose Gold system in it. I bought a Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS head unit and the Metra 70-1857 kit. The two questions I have are the Metra kit does not have a wire for illumination going to the Pioneer. There is an orange wire at the factory plug that plugs into the Metra kit. Where can I tie into the factory wiring to get this? I'm afraid the Pioneer will be too bright at night unless it dims down when I turn the lights on. I am also running a ground wire directly from the battery to the ground at the head unit. Would it be okay to also run a hot from the battery to the constant 12 volt at the head unit and Metra constant 12 volt? The battery hot will have an inline fuse.

Well after all the views and no answers I will have to assume that they were very dumb questions or nobody knows the answers. I guess I'm on my own to figure it out.
