Default A-pillar tweeter mount positions question

What would be the SQ difference between the following positions (assuming all are mounted at the point where the corner of the A pillar where it meets the dash)

1) Facing each-other (flush or surface mount)
2) Angled in facing center line of the cabin at ear-height
3) Shooting straight at the head of the person of that side seat

My choice would be #1, stay away from #3.

I'm kinda curious to see what others say

I mounted mine like number 2 but below ear height. I think it sounds great, the passenger and the driver can hear the highs from both sides.

Really depends on the tweeter. Try but them in different places and see how they sound; all tweeters are different, but you are putting them in the right place. Tweeters on the dash of a Corvette will raise the sound stage so that it will be in front of you, on the dash, not behind you.

I'm using the Alpine SPX series tweeters from their SPX-107r component setup.

Basic specs:
1" diam ring radiator with wave guide
25w (75w available supplied power)
600-60K hZ response range
86dB sensitivity

I'm running them through an active 3-way crossover so that helps to give me additional tuning options.

ditto

...and I drove around for about a month or so with them taped up in all sorts of configurations. In the end, I liked this the best.
