Default pioneer avic z140bh question, problem I think

got my 140 installed today, and initially it was great, sounded fantastic, but after awhile, it started acting up, the ATT sign started comming on on the top right corner, and basically I could not control the volume, the unit was trying to attenuate itself, it would flicker then after a bit it would just stay attenuated.
Any ideas? I did try and reset factory settings just incase I did something wrong.
Help please!!!

the mute wire is bare behind the radio and resting on something metal, pull radio, find mute wire, and tape the end of it up

I did not install it, will I hurt anything if I leave it this way until Monday when the guy who installed it can do it?

I am leaning more twords a defective unit, when the car is cold it does fine, after the unit is on for an hour or so it starts then reaches a point where the ATT is on permanently. Also today it was parked in the sun all morning and as soon as I got in it was ATT right away....Bummer

I just installed the same unit in my 05. I used the axxess wire harness for the install. Mine will play for 30 min-45minwwithout any issues, the ATT will display and lower the volume. That stays on until the next day. Any thoughts or ideas?

Sounds like both may have overheating issues, which assumes the unit will put itself into ATT if it gets too hot
