Kenwood DNX5120 into C6 ???
I have one of these older units in my 03 2500HD and absolutely love it.
For the sake of button/controls familiarity, I'd like to eventually grab a 2nd one.
Would I need something like this ?

and this ?

The C2R-GM24 link you have is exactly what you want. There will be 4 wires you'll need to connect: red, yellow, black from harness to same color on radio, and 'remote amp turn on' lead from radio to wire on gm24 at pin B3 (I believe both are blue).
You'll also need a plastic adapter so the radio fits properly in the dash (Metra 95-3304 works well), and a GM antenna adapter (GM-6 or MDA1B). You can get them all from DDmods.
That's it! 3 new parts + your old radio + connect 4 wires =

If/when I win the bid on this radio, I'll give D&D a call and get this stuff ordered.
I absolutely love the Garmin GPS and think it would be great to have both vehicles with the same identical units in them.
Too many bells & whistles on these things to memorize how to operate two different units.

dont forget the SW controls.
There will be some connections for that as well
The illumination wire will connect to the gray with black stripe on active handling as well

I noticed the adapter harness that Dennis sells has 4 RCA jacks on it.
I assume that these get plugged into the 4 Kenwood pre-outs ?

Assuming you have the C2R-GM24....
Plug the 4 male RCA cords on the C2R into the 4 female front/rear RCA jacks on the HU. The car amp will separate the bass signal for the subs, so turn off any low pass filters that may be on the HU.
I believe the colors are:
L/F - White
R/F - Gray
L/R - Green
R/R - Purple
Connect the black, yellow, and red wires to the same color between C2R and new HU.
Connect the 'remote amp trigger' wire (prob blue or blue/white) on the HU harness to the blue wire at pin B3 of the C2R harness (be careful not to grab the 'antenna remote' wire on the HU, or you'll only be able to hear music when you're on AM/FM). If you don't connect this wire you'll be back asking why there's no sound coming out of your speakers, this is the wire that tells the car amp when to power up.
Connect the 'dimmer' wire on the HU harness directly to the gray wire with black stripe at the TC/AH button on the center armrest (both orange wires in C2R harness are useless, ignore them).
That should be it for wires, anything else can be left not connected, or check out this thread to see where they go
The GPS antenna is fine on top of the vents. Sirius should be OK there also since you removed the center speaker, but you may want to try it on top of the dash if you don't mind it sitting in view.
