Trying to install a Pioneer Z130BT in a 2011 GS. I can't get the dimmer to work. I have tied the orange/white wire from the HU to the Gray/Black on the traction control button as I've read in other posts and still cannot get the HU to dim or go into night mode when the headlights are on. Any suggestions?

The dimmer circuit doesn't exactly operate in conjunction with the headlights, it uses it's own sensor (I believe on the dash near center speaker, but not sure about that).

No it wasn't dark outside. I just assumed that it would dim when I turned the lights on manually.

You have to catch the dimmer wire from behind your HVAC controls. It should be yellowish or cream in color. Test it with a DMM to be sure.

I have connected the dimmer wire to the traction control but it's stays dim all the time now. I can only manually control the brightness. Any thoughts?

You might be on the wrong dimmer wire.

Mine works fine. And yes on the C6 the dimmer is not the same as the headlamp. Interior lights are independent of exterior.

just dealt with dimmer issue on my c6 Monday. had wired GMOS4 adapter properly and dimmer did not work. 30 mins with Crutchfield tech support resulted in solution. Tapped wire on HVAC controls to radio harness orange/white illumination wire. Works properly now. There are three harnesses connected to back of HVAC. You want the right most (closest to passenger) harness. looking at female side of harness, tap the gray/black stripe wire in the right most(passenger) lower corner of connector. I'll find the pic...says a thousand words...

The gray/black wire on the traction control button is the same circuit as the gray/black wire on the HVAC, either should work.
