Broke azz honda with a lot of bass
I came across a 91 Honda Civic Si 2 door hatch for $3 so I decided to pick it up and throw some beats in it Pretty much just a toy car to tinker with and try to make loud. My ultimate goal is to get it to do 155+db without having to do a one note wonder box or a wall. I've always liked having just nasty street beaters but my wife made me get rid of the last one and turn it into a baby hauler, time to try again since the car was basically free.
Here's a picture of the workspace, nice big open loud hatch car!
After I took the back seats out there was a big old seat bracket in the way where I wanted the box to go. Chisled it out and siliconed the holes up, looks like there will never be a back seat again
Using an old Phase Linear UV8 garbage flip out for a little bit, just got a new JVC HD radio hu that I gotta slide in.

Everything going in is pretty much old recylced equipment from my Dodge Durango I used to have, but even though its old it was nice when I got all of it about 4-5 years ago.
For the fronts I'm going to be using some MB Quart qsd216s off of an Autotek 75x2 amp. I found a pair of Memphis 5 1/4s buried in my garage so I'm going to just toss those in there for the heck of it on another Autotek 75x2 and see if they sound decent. If not I'll just run the MB Quarts, those things get loud as hell
I have 2 Autotek 3000.1s and 2 Hifonics Olympus 15s for the low end. I'm taking the battery out from under the hood and using 2 Kinetik 2400s in the back.

155 is a lot, lot of space, lot of money in supporting electronics, lot of everything.
2050 watts = roughly 128db in your current gear without any enclosure calculation.
155db takes the walls or the one note specials a lot of the time, or a LOT more subs.
I have sat in a 154db car, with 16 10's ported into a single enclosure and 4k watts, and it was stupid loud. The time in the car was brief, but double kick drums by Metallica was pretty awesome heh.
G'luck. Just might want to shoot for the 145 range ... hell of a lot easier to get there.

155 db is going to be a stretch, especially with old equipment, but it'll do at least a 153 with a little playing around. I've built a few loud street beaters in my day The last one did over a 150 at 28 hz. I like the lows a little ;-) This one will have to probably be a mid/upper 40hz burp to get it, I don't want to do the 65hz garbage though.
I forgot about an outside picture of this magnificent beauty
I got the old DVD player out and put it into my Malibu so the kid can watch spongebob. here's the new JVC HD radio in there.
I made a few MDF rings so I could fit the MB Quart 6 1/2s in the door without hitting the window
I got 1 crossover behind the cdplayer and the other one is in up in the passesnger footwell. I have to do something creative to hide these and get the wire mess out of the way. Besides that all the power wires, rcas, and remote are all under the carpet and pretty much gone.

$3.00?
Boy, you got ripped off.
Hahahah Good find. Did you talk 'em down from $5.00?
Just think, if you remove your front right hub cap and sell it for $3.00, you are doing good : )

It was my brother in law's car from back in high school. I went over to the in-laws house one day and his mom put it in the front lawn and was making a 'free' sign for it because it hadn't been driven forever. It took about $3 of gas to get home, thats where I got the price from :-) lol
bb996, the week before I put the equipment in I averaged 33-35mpg on a tank of gas (even with the horribly close transmission), the week after with all the extra weight it now gets ~23mpg. Oops.

The Kinetiks don't fit under the hood with the intake there (its too big by like 2 inches), so I had to reroute the stock wiring to the back with some 2/0 and put both of them in the hatch.
Here's a picture of the box from the outside. The box fires forward and then there is an 8 inch aero port firing out the back left.
The port is way too small and the subs are getting choked but it's all I had at the time. My buddy dropped off a 10 inch aeroport he made for me and that should help out a bit, now I just have to find some time to redo the box.
This is the little amp rack. They are just kind of leaning on each other in a V with a little bracing, nothing fancy. This will go across the back wall of the hatch.

View of the subs from the front. It sits right at the pillar and barely stays out of the font cabin portion of the car.
Here's the view of everything from the back. The batts are in the little MDF box on the extreme right hand side. It all fits like a glove :-) Good thing nothing was an inch or 2 bigger!

Thanks guys, it does a 150.1 right now just pretty much plugging it all in and hitting play. I gotta get that 10 inch port in there, the subs are loading pretty ugly and the surround buckles at high volume on the sub farthest from the port. I got a few Lil Wayne and Skrillex tracks that are just rediculous in this thing!
Unfortunately the window snap (like the ones on the old mini vans) on the back right side shattered and now the window pops open when the bass hits or whenever you close the door. So now to make the ghetto car look even worse I siliconed the window in place :-) haha!

You totally need a "my other car is a Corvette" plate frame, lol. Nobody will believe it, thus making it even more awesome! You should save that thing for your kid in high school. Or run it in the 24 hours of Lemons race when you are bored of it.

I would totally race it too. Would you believe me if I said it's actually really fun to drive without the stereo in it? 2000lbs gets going pretty quick. It's like a go kart with turn signals

I am not certain, but I think that is THE car to have in one of the FWD autocross classes. Something like 8-9 championships in a row. Going to have to go look it up now.
When you get bored, rip the stereo out of it and you could CL it for probably $1500 to an autocross guy
