Anyone recommend Door speakers to replace the 10" bose speakers in the doors. What about powering them?..would I still use the Bose amp and a band pass filter? I have the ADD-GM24 adapter behind H/U.
Curerntly I have Polk audio 3.5" in doors, 2 MTX subs in back driven by a discus amp.I have good bass but the midrange is'nt all that good.'05 corvette.Thanx for the help...

As a potentially cheaper alternative I was looking at these:
http://www.amazon.com/Kicker-10CVT65.../dp/B003VQ2A08
With these adapter plates:

If the new speaker has spade connectors I don't see why you couldn't use the factory wiring with an adapter (or just cut the factory connector off at the harness side and splice)

New component speakers would sound like crap without an amp to properly power them, the stock setup just isn't powerful enough.
Since you already have the add24 and sub, I'd suggest replacing the current amp with one that can power everything, or add another small one for just the fronts.
What's your budget for this project?
IMO, one of the best values in speakers right now is the CDT scratch & dent gear. I got the CL-E61CF for the same price as new MM6501's and am very happy with them.

So would it be best to change out the Bose factory amp in it's current location since the door speaker wiring is already in place.. If so how would I do it? Thanx for all the input...

your budget and imagination are your only limits. take a look at the faq's and the c6 stickies at the top of this sub-forum. lots of ideas.
i installed arc audio amps in the passenger footwell (125.4 and 500.1) in place of the stock bose amp w/ polk audio mm6501 components in the doors. speaker baffles can be acquired from various forum members (nakidparts and raam audio).

i installed JL audio zr800 8" component drivers and powered them with a JL amp along with a pair of JL 3.5" 2 way speakers. the sound when adjusted correctly is nothing short of amazing. and i have heard a LOT of systems.
