what wire do i need to power my amp????

when they installed it, they used an existing wire. now it isnt enough, they told me 10 or 8, and wanted to charge me $69 to run a wire which is :bs

Im gonna do it myself, just need to know what to use

10 gauge would be adequate, fuse at 30 amps max. 8 gauge would be better fuse at 40 amps max.

And get a high strand wire like Monster, phoenix gold, etc. Don't use wire with a low strand count. It will probably cost about $.25-.50 a foot. Run your ground to the frame as close as possible and keep the fuse holder in the engine compartment near the battery.

Go with the 8-gauge, always leave yourself some breathing room. ;)

8 is probably best though 10 is sufficient. If you ever plan on expanding however, go with a 4. YOu can then split off of it later if you want.
