Default Update on my bose subwoofer problem..........

I have done some more troubleshooting on my problem and I ruled out the subwoofer amp. and speaker.
I have two possibilities now, it's either the bose signal processor or the head unit.
I am leaning toward the signal processor.

does anyone have a bose signal processor just laying around collecting dust?
:D

The BSP would effect both the radio and CD. Radio stations have less bass than a CD would.

You can buy a used BSP in the for sale section cheap.

Thanks,
I thought it might be the signal processor since it is the next thing in-line after the HU.

since the problem only affects the left front speaker. it's not just the subwoofer but the complete left front.

the sound is distorted and at a lower level than the right side.

Do you have a CD changer? Did you confirm that only the internal CD player has the problem?

99HT,

It's on AM/FM, in-dash CD and CD Changer.
I'm going to swap the BSP first, I can only hope it's not the HU. :smash:

This is a different description of the symptoms than you stated earlier. If ALL the sources into the HU have the same problem, then it is either the BSP or the sub amp itself.

Since all the people who have replaced their HU in their C5 cannot use the BSP, it is just dead weight under the dash, Get someone to send you one for a test.

99HT,

yes, it is a different description because I did more troubleshooting on it sunday. thats when I discovered the distorted sound to the left front.
I swapped the sub amp and speaker from the right front to eliminate them as the cause of the problem.
so, now I am left with the BSP or HU.

thanks,
tom
