Default Do you have any advice on burning CDs

I seem to "overcook" mine.
I get mostly good tracks but a few will have popping or some static.

What do you think...
Get better quality Blanks?
Slower copy speed?
???

there IS copy protection on newer CDs. Hardware problems with your setup can cause problems too. Way too much variables to diagnose here. If it only happens with SOME CDs it may be some sort of CP scheme. If it is random, something else...

It sounds like either the cd you are copying is reading too fast and overloading the writer or you need to do a prerecording test to make sure the transfer is going to go ok with the writer before recording. This will slow you down considerably.

Good luck.

sounds like you need to check your hardware/software. there aren't many CDs out that have the copy protection that distorts sound.
