Default Anyone install speaker or sub in waterfall?

I''ve seen some mods awhile back but can't locate any now.
Would love to see what members have done using the waterfall area.
Please post your pics and details.
TThanks.

I am going to see what I can do in that area, it would require modding the latch and maybe firing backwards(not a bad thing in some cases) and maybe just a single 8. I have far more ideas than I do time or energy but I am going to look at it at least cursory.

I know I've seen pics on here of someone who did a custom fiberglass job on a yellow vert, but can't find them

Click here for the JL boxes.

Here you go- CYOUL8ER's dual 10" sub solution. Beautiful work.

I would love this in a version with shallower 10" subs that don't require the trimming of the tonneau.

Wow. I like it !! I just saw something like this on the jl website. No trimming required. Looks great. Does anyone know what this would cost to do. I just want the speakers that go behind the seats but also wonder if the hoops I have installed would cause a fitment issue.
Anyone have some input or an opinion?
Mainly what the cost for the install of this setup behind the seats. I love it.

I like this setup. Anyone have an idea as to what the cost to add these would be?

This is the JL Audio Stealthbox for the Vert.

It uses 8" subs and Forum Members have described the SQ as being 'tight' but not much response, if any, below 50Hz due to the small driver/enclosure volume(s). Not exactly cheap either.

It's a nice answer to a difficult install location. Can't tell if your hoops will fit too.

What is ment by "tight" but not much response.?

described the SQ as being 'tight' but not much response, if any, below 50Hz due to the small driver/enclosure volume(s). Not exactly cheap either.

I did see that car toys is a popular vender. They are expensive.

Whats the possible cost for this setup?
I just found the price.
850.00. WOW !!!!!

'Tight' refers to well defined punch/impact.

'Not much response below 50Hz' means they don't have the real deep bass that is prevalent in modern popular recordings.

Van Halen should sound great. Rap, not so much.

Very hard to get 8's to play low, why I am only working with 10's and above whenever possible, one ten can have just about the same output as two 8's, all things considered and play lower. (I have a 15 in one of my cars that will do 138.4 on music, as low as you could ever imagine, super accurate, only weighs 47 lbs total with the enclosure included

I want to try to fit a single driver in the middle of the waterfall, hidden, leaving space for jackets, small packages, etc while on road trips, I may have to settle for a single 8 but it would be a better one than what comes in the stealthbox.

I wish I had a couple of clones to do all the stuff I want to do!!!

Have you given any thought to a shallow mount sub in a box that lies flat under the top? A 3" x 18" x 40" box will fit and will yield .76 cuft which is enough for the new 12" or 13" JL shallow subs. Memphis, Pioneer also have 10" and 12" subs that will work. There may be even more depth available as parts of the top are hanging and provisions could be made to let the top sit on the box. A grill could be placed over a hole cut into the partition to allow sound to pass. While this might not give the best sound, it will be a far cry from a single 8.

That statement is true no matter what kind of speakers you have

I just found this setup used for $550.00. Is it a good deal? What would be the cost for an install like this?
Anyone know of a setup where I could have just an additional speaker put in that area that doesn't have such a high price point? I'm on the verge of buying this but would really prefer something costing a little less.
Any ideas, or should i just buy it? Will I have to buy anything else or will this setup with my factory unit work well?
Thanks.

they are pricey new i know. your gonna need an amp to power them, wiring, and plan on a solid 150 in labor to install.

imo could do this for way less if u just got a trunk style sub box

I wonder though that when the top is down or even up there is a partition seperating the trunk area. How exactly does that sort of setup work in bringing the extra sound to the cockpit, and are there any examples on the forum with setups like that in verts? I do hate to give up any trunk space as I do use mine.
Thanks.

With the top down you not only have the partitian, you also have a folded top between you and the sub. With this set up the sub will probably sound like its in another car.

Exactly what I thought. I'm going with the custom fit JL audio behind the seats as pictured above. Expensive, but the best setup I've come across.
Would like to see some other options for a C6 vert from other forum members.
Come on vert owners, show what you have. I need and want more ideas.

IMO it will still sound good, I have yet to do one in a C6 but have done a 10" in a c5 vert with a partition in it and still got good bass with the top down

elemental designs 11kv was getting 325rms sealed with the center cubby cover over it as well

Personally in a vert I think you would get better results with the sub in the trunk atleast it has something to fire/load off of
