Default Sub Box help please

For those of you who may have noticed, I have been posting here looking for your insight & wisdom and I thank you deeply for all your comments. Here is yet one more question.

I am looking for a sub box for my '09 Z06. I want to minimize the amount of space used up in the rear compartment. I like the design of the JL Stealthbox. I see that MadVette has one too, but several people have posted that it takes him quite some time to ship things.

So what other vendors offer a box similar to what I am looking for?

Some have already told me that the JL is OK, but there are better. I assume they are saying this due to the speaker JL puts in the StealthBox, so I was thinking the box is a good box, and I would just replace the speaker with a JL 10W6 or 10w7 or Alpine SWX-1043D. Thoughts...

You won't be able to fit a W6 or W7 in the stealthbox, the mounting depth is too much. Mounting depth has to be less than 6 inches for whatever sub you choose, otherwise you won't be able to store the hardtop.

Hmm, not good. Will have to consider other options for sure.

Was referred to 4080enclosures.com, any opinions?

4080 Enclosures makes a very nice looking box.

It is cheaper then the JL Stealthbox and has about .68 cu/ft I think.

because you have a z u dont need to worry about thetop fitting so the box can be deeper. I had to get a shallow fosgate 10" but wanted my top to fit. A W7 wont fit in my settup but a little deeper/taller might work. Even one W7 will really thump hard in a vette

Just to follow up, I ordered from 4080enclosures. I talked to Ainslie for some time and felt like he has a good product.

Sure will. I have a whole system update plus sound deadening I am going to be doing to the vette. So I'll do a write up of the process and post it. The only thing is that I won't be able to do the stereo upgrade till after March. Some of the Alpine equipment I want was just introduced and CES2010 and won't be out till then. :-(

I have had that box for about 2 years and am very happy with the construction as well as the looks.
Make sure you have a good seal between your sub and the box, or it will sound boomy.
I made a gasket from 1/8" ensolite.
