Default Whats the best no mod stereo for C3

I have a numbers matching 76 with a working original stereo. I replaced the dash speakers but it still doesn't sound very good. I would like to get better sound from stereo and ipod without having to cut the dash.

How good are the replacement no mod stereos and are any of them better than the others?

Thanks.

Hello c3_guy,

I'm Robert from Precision Stereo Repair. I'm an NCRS member, #44194. I repair and modify many of the C3 radios. With a few simple mods, they can easily sound as good as a modern radio.

I can add an AUX input to any radio for an ipod or mp3 player for only $50.

It will automatically switch from tuner to AUX whenever you plug the cable into any device with a headphone jack. Any ipod, MP3, or portable CD. It switches back to tuner when you unplug it.

If you wish, I can also modify your radio inside to sound like a modern radio for only $50 to $150 extra, depending on how loud you need it and how many speakers it needs to drive. I don't gut out or remove any components, I just connect a few of the origional circuts in a more modern fashion for better bass & treble & power. All of your origional circuts will still be used.

The $50 Level 1 Mod. DRAMATICALLY improves bass and treble response which makes your original radio have the full tone of a modern radio. Use with your stock 10 ohm speakers, or better yet my new 4x6 4x10 or 6x9 8 to 10 ohm speakers for only $20-40 each.

The $150 Level 3 Mod. DRAMATICALLY improves power and bass and treble. It comes with a small, high power amp that can drive 2 or 4, of any modern 4 ohm speakers.

Also, if you wish, I can service the radio for only $100 extra. $150 total to service the radio and add an AUX input.

The $100 repair service includes parts. Any defective capacitors, transistors, etc. It includes a full radio alignment. Also,

(1) I check all the PC circuts & repair as nesessary.

(2) I check all the capacitors & replace all that are worn or defective.

(3) I align all the coils for the best reception.

(4) I calibrate the dial.

(5) I overhaul the tuning mechanism.

(6) I clean the controls & switches.

(7) I clean the chrome nose piece & push buttons.

(8) I clean & polish inside the dial window & re-paint the dial pointer.

If you decide to ship it, the Post Office is much more gentle than UPS.

Insure it for at least $300 & wrap it well to Protect The Shafts, nose & corners.

Leave a note with your email or phone# & I'll notify you when I recieve it.

Thank you,
Robert

I would leave the radio alone. mount a amp or two mount two speakes 5 or 6 " in kick panels, mount 2 speakers in rear and a sub. Plug your ipod directly into amps and rock and roll. Set your gains on the amps properly and it will sounds great. If you ever want to go back to original take everything out.

Buy onther set of kick panel grilles.

if you dont want to cut it up, id buy an after market gauge bezel and hack it up, or buy one thats pre cut for a modern head unit.
