Default Question? A Flip out Player that can show RPM/Speed/A/F ratio/Boost/Oil pressure?

Hey forum, I was wondering if technology has got this far to interface alot of engine operating readouts that could be displayed on a flip screen? This would be very cool, as I would not have to buy a bunch of guages and install them, just the senders, and simply see what everything is doing on the flip screen.

Yes can be done.

Use EFI live and then run the laptop output to an NTSC/composite video convertor then to the aux video input.

Do you have to keep the laptop hooked up at all times to do this ?

I wonder how those carputers work ?

Yeah you do.

There are a couple of other companies out there that make systems also, but they all pull data from the port or they have their own sensors which you must add.

I have a PLX DM200 OBDII display. Although it is not a flip-out, it does show all you want!

NICE! thats a really neat gauge, I would probably have to find OBD specific sensors and convert to them to get this to work. Most important gauges that I need is EGT, Boost, Fuel pressure, RPM, Oil pressure, tranny temp, oh yeah water too. In the process of swapping a Cummins into a Cadillac and I dont want to butcher up the stock dash but a neat gauge like this where the stock MPG reader was would be fantastic and stealthy. The best reason for this build, to tow the vette to the track on wide body leather. http://photobucket.com/FleetwoodCummins

Thanks for the links. The caddy one does not work because I'm nit a member.

I don't need to join anymore forums as I have enough to keep me busy.

I am getting very tempted to get one and plug it into my AVIC that I installed in my Z.

More techno stuff in a car that I barely drive anymore.

Still, would be neato.
