Default Kenwood 6140 installed yesterday

but, I was trying to "test" the nav and I grounded the ground wire to the wiring harness ground wire and it didnt work, I would still require the car to be stopped to input the nav info.

Only other problem I had -- I didnt connect the blue remote wire and therefore it didn't turn on the factory amps -- I didn't know there were factory amps on the base system on a 2006. Anyway a quick call to the scoche and that was fixed.

Thoughts on the ground wire?

VERY easy install IMHO overall.

I did a google for 6140 bypass and found this thread. Post #24 says to "splice the parking brake safety wire from the DNX's harness into the ground wire on your vehicle's harness" to do the bypass.

And your issue with the Scosche is ANOTHER reason I beat the drum on the Peripheral modules so hard. Yes, they're more expensive but folks they just work.

Checking it out now, thanks!

Ohhh, that is what I did, I thought it bypassed the feature where you can use the nav stuff while your moving, I will try the DVD... I wondered how that would work since it knows your speed and how fast your going.....it knows your moving
