Default VSS and RSS? What if I don't hook them up?

What am I losing? The portable NAV units dont have them and they work fine......what am I missing? Time estimations or something?

VSS helps with accuracy and to maintain position while in tunnels, etc. Not sure about the RSS reference? If you're talking about the reverse signal wire then that's only for when you're using a backup camera.

I wondered what the RSS did. Thanks! So if I want to "TEST" the system to opperate without the parking brake on I need to ground the wire?

It depends what brand NAV you have. Pioneers don't work right if you do that.
