Alpine w505 vs all

For SQ I would guess the 505 will sound better but that is in the ear of the beholder so gotta know the goals. Also keep in mind if you want NAV then the 505 is a much more expensive proposition as you have to buy the separate Blackbird B200 to dock inside of it. I have a 205 with the Blackbird and while I like the head unit for audio the nav side of things makes me nuts. The nav itself is nowhere near as good as the Garmin portables you can get for $150 and if you use an Alpine processor you had to install a workaround piece to get the analog audio out to the proc... I'll stop now before I really go on another rant about this.
I put a Kenwood 8120 in my 06 convertible and a 6140 will be going into my 08Z.

From my experience using the W505 on many different setups, the preouts are very gutless. Are you using this with a stock system or aftermarket? I would have to recommend a Kenwood excelon over the W505 for sound quality. For ease of use, the W505 is simple to operate and looks nice.
