Default c5 dd conversion started.......

Wow all I have to say for those of that have done this yourself and drilled out the cage rivets>>??? wtf did you use? My rivets wouldnt even scratch with the drill, They also ate through a good saws all blade, I wound up cutting the actual mounts out with the saws all. I give anyone props that got it out any other way. So far I have most opf the wiring done to the amps, 1 side door is completed with new components, mounts etc, Im about to go out to the garage and try to finish the rest...Ill post up some pics when im done..

I tried drilling out the rivets with a right-angle drill attachment. That didn't work very well. I ended up cutting the supports with a sawzall.

keep up the good work, honestly saw zall is far easier then drilling no questions asked. And you can slap the oem radio back in without the mount its just a brace for the back of the radio really not needed at all

Ok after 2 days the dd project is done, I did new polk/momo components in the doors with dynamat, pioneer avic in the dash, alpine rear speakers, a sony explode 12 with dual coils, precision power 50x4 rms for the int speakers and an Mtx thunder amp bridged to the 12". Double din bezel came from dennis with a quick respray to even out some damage in shipping.(c5 bears fan was great in dealing with any problems).....I have to post up some pics now..

awesome////....... Looks pretty bad ass I do have a slight gap on the pass side now that I took another look, I think it depends alot on how the bezel orig came before it was modified.

its not the bezel necessarily alot of cars have this even stock. there is a bolt u can loosen and push the dash tighter then lock it down. then when u put bezel in push it over tight before tightening the bolts down u can usually get it all lined up then
