Anyone have experience with this unit? I am planning on having it installed next week. It is a highly reputable stereo shop, they have done work for me before, they will install it for 1280 including tax. Is this a good unit, I know some of the earlier pioneers took a while to load up, but this one is supposed to be fast

Personally, I wouldn't mind it taking longer to boot up initially.
What I hate about it is that it doesn't respond quickly enough to my button imputs.

I love the graphics and high-res screen, UI and such, but the touch screen is something that needs improvement, IMO.

Yes that includes the nav unit, he is a big pioneer dealer and says he just bought a pallet of these and got a great price, plus there is a 200 rebate on it that he is taking off right away making the total 1280 installed. I plan on doing new speakers and subs this winter but want to do it myself, this seems like a good deal just to have hime do it, he warranties all his work. I have looked at both pioneer, kenwood and alpine, they all seem to be great units.

I've had mine for almost a year now and love it. Much better than the factory nav. There is rumor of another software update coming out mid summer that should make it even better...

I have two of these units and love them both the small issues are not a deal breaker for me. I do like the Kenwood line up for 09 very nice units you will be very happy with it. IPOD intergration is superb all of my music, movies and videos are stored on the IPOD you dont need anything else except XM and HD radio if you want.

Just a heads up but you overpaid a lot for your unit. I bought this same head unit a month ago for 600 bucks. Did you buy it from Pioneer direct or from the shop? It is selling on about 6 various sites from 550-700 bucks. Here is a link http://www.gosale.com/4948051/pionee...0bt-premier-in. I bought mine from Electronic Direct. Product is in perfect condition and came within a week. They even called me to confirm the address, inform when they were shipping it and to ensure I received the product. As they say, a dollar saved is a dollar earned.

I havent done it yet, wow thanks that is cheap. Ok I have been debating on wether or not to install this myself, I have an electrical background, I have just never installed a stereo, I am confident I can do it, what all will I need? I know there is something I read about so you keep your chimes?
