Does any-one have a CDA-9885 Alpine stereo and a Ipod 3G ?
I purchased this stereo about a year ago from a forum Member. I haven't installed it yet but am planning to very soon. He gave me the Ipod cable with the head unit when i purchased. I just want to make sure its comaptible with my Iphone 3G before I go through the trouble of installing it and being upset that it wont work for my needs. Crutchfield says the Iphone 3G is not compatible but they also stat that there is know such adapter to make the front speakers work with a aftermarket head unit ( which we know isn't the case ).
If any-one that has any input on this matter it would be great ,

Not a certified iphone ready unit. Meaning, Alpine admits it might work, but they won't guarantee it will function properly. Additionally, it won't charge the iphone 3g. I've seen this unit connect to the iphone before and it did pass the audio and allowed full control. Just no charging.
