Default Wiring/Fade control interface to and add on powered/sub

It sounds like the Stock Delco/Bose HU on the 2000 C5 sends out the woofer signals only to the front speakers and the mid/to higher only to the front and rear speakers.

Anyway, if I wire in a powered/Subwoofer I would use the Pac addvet1 with the Amp/RCA connectors or I could use a AOEM-vet1 (overkill).

What i would like to know is there any way I can wire the sub so that the HU Fade(speaker front to back adjustment) control will work on the
sub. I am assuming it may not since if you fade to the back speakers you are only getting the mid/high signals and no woofer, since those signals all go to the front speakers?

Or does the HU fade control even have anything to do with the signals and where they are going other than the sound volume. In otherwords if I would be taping into the front woofer signals for the sub, would the signals still be strong if I fade to the back speakers. Or if I tap into the back speaker signals will i have any bass.

Any Comments?

When I had the stock Bose HU with the powered sub,. fading to the rear did not make the sub louder. My hookup was to the front Bose door speaker. The sub got louder with more volume from the HU.There also is an adjustment on the sub for more volume. I also did not use any adapter, just tapped into the Bose front speaker for the signal. You can also use the method that Pentavolvo said and I know that he is one of the best audio experts on the forum. You should just get the Alpine 9886 with 3 outputs at the rear and you can adjust the bass, treble, and sub indepentably of each other and still retain the Bose woofers with a direct connection of the sub to the HU. BTW there is no base signal at the rear speakers to run that sub off of. All of this information is what has worked for me. Good Luck LTC

IF i tap into the front speaker wires or head wires for the front speaker, and run those to the sub what happens to the sub in back when i dial the HU fade completely to the back speakers? I thought it gave you a R & L feed, not a front to back.

My sub was still playing at the same level when i faded front to rear. Those small rear speakers on the vert act as a fill. When you have the fade balanced everthing will be fine.
