Default video for ken 8120

has anyone figured out how to play video's or view pictures from a usb drive on the 8120?
have searched this forum and found no answers.

I can get it to play songs and video/movies from the ipod but not from a usb.
it does not even see; any video/movies that are on the usb drive. some songs play from the usb but i don't think it finds all of them. will not show any pictures that are on the drive either. any ideas?

I was told no video from USB and have never got it to work. Also for audio to work correctly you have limits on folder depth and structure. There is a document on Kenwoods website that lists what folder depth and structure it supports (http://www.kenwood.com/audiofile/dnx7120/english.html). Also if you have a lot of mp3's on the USB it takes a long time to reindex it. To me it is worthless as the support off the USB sucks. I use my 160GB iPOD classic but wish the USB worked right and I could use a large Western Digital passport drive. Oh well.

Thanks for info. If the USB can't be used for videos, I agree, it is pretty much useless. The passport drive is what I was trying to get to work. Guess I will keep trying; and if I come up with anything I will let you know.

Good luck! I have been there and tried plenty. The audio stuff works OK but due to the limitations it is not as good as the ipod. Let us know if you come across a breakthrough!

I just installed a dnx 7120 and use the kenwood KCA-IP300V ipod cable. I can play and operate the music and see cover images but only get sound on videos and movies. Is there something in the settings that I need to change to allow me to see the movies? I have IPOD nano 3rd gen I believe.

It is kind of weird but you need to touch the spot where the album art is and it will show the video full screen.
