Kenwood dnx8120 iphone robot sound

I got a Kenwood dnx8120 Nav w/ blue tooth installed this summer and works great, on the whole. Bluetooth connects to my iphone just fine but everyone on the other end says i sound like a robot (insert joke here). I do not have this issue on other vehicles connecting to the bluetooth, so it is not the 3G iphone. Any ideas? Are their any firmware updates available from Kenwood that would help with the connection?
