Default Antenna adaptor question

I am just getting around to installing an aftermarket radio since I had my interior out to install a Crazy Cowboy insulation kit. I bought a Dynex GM antenna adaptor cable from Best Buy model number DX-A1122. My question is did I buy the right cable because the male end of the antenna from the car does not want to stay in the female end of the Dynex cable. I’m not sure if I should crimp the end or just get a different cable? If it makes a difference but there is a shorter antenna on the car. I do not know what kind since it came with the car.

If it plugs in and fits but just comes out easy, you could plug it in and then tape it with electric tape. I always tape mine even if it fits really snug.
