Alpine CDA-7873
Anyone here have any experience with Alpine products? Particularly the CDA-7873? I think this is the one I want to get and am looking for advice.

Re: Alpine CDA-7873 (IcemanZ06)
Great units. If you are careful, you can fit the 1 DIN alpine unit and a smaller unit (EQ, or in my case my NOS progressive controller) both in the GM factory slot, and make it look quite nice.
One other great thing about the higher-end alpine units is you can buy an RCA-to-alpine AUX converter that will alow you to run anything over RCA's directly into your car's speaker system, with the full capability of the head unit. I have a home brew mp3 player that works great this way.

I have the CDA-7878 and LOVE it. I would recommend spending the extra $150 to get the 7878. It's bar none one of the BEST FM/AM/XM/MP3/CD players out!

I have an Alpine 7876. Well worth the money. If your'e looking to get 4 volts from all of the pre-outs, I would suggest the 7977. I rectified my mistake by putting in an EQ with a built-in line driver. The only difference between the 7876 and the 7873 is choice of color on the display. It's not worth the extra $100. Unfortunately, they were out of stock (so they say).
