Default Help removing stock system

So I ordered a new system. I plan on installing it this winter but I want to remove the stock system now to drop some weight for the fall racing season. I can get the center console out in a minute but I no nothing about pulling the head unit, door panels and speakers, rear speakers, and 12 disk changer. Any write ups out there to help me along?

Thanks,

Nick

once u pull center counsel out u literally unbolt the radio

rear speakers in a z06 are a PIA u gotta pull all the panels out but in a vert or coupe its super easy, front speakers u gotta pull the door panels

i recommend reading the c5 faq it addresses all of this

The rear grills did not "pop off" on my Z06.

I had to unscrew the side panels to get at the speakers.

Technically speaking, of course it is. In the Corvette vernacular coupe refers to the targa cars only.

Manufacturer Chevrolet
Parent company General Motors
Also called Z06
Production 2001–2004
Assembly Bowling Green, Kentucky
Predecessor C4 ZR-1
Successor C6 Z06

Body style(s) 2-door hardtop coupé

"Starting with the most structurally rigid body style offered, the hardtop or "fixed roof coupé" (FRC)"

Link:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Corvette_C5_Z06

I would like to see the references to C5 coupe rear speaker replacement exempt the Z06 as there are a few people who have posted about being misled by information in the FAQ's.

One guy I remember posted that he destroyed a panel trying to "just pull the grill off".

They sure are!

To bad that info is not in the FAQ's when one is looking for rear speaker replacement in a COUPE.

FRC= Fixed Roof Coupe.
