An Update on our Audio Update...

I have been working on Lori's car for the past couple of weeks and finally have had time to upload the pic's of the work. Here are some pic's of the before Audio in her Vette.

Flush mount Sub and First attempt Amp box...



Alpine HU... and Pro Clip moount for her GPS...



Out with the old...





Brackets removed...



Fab'd up some brackets to mount the new Kenwood 8120 HU..



New HU Installed...





I installed a SubThump Stealth Sub box with an ED 12 inch Sub, Dual Voice Coil. I mounted the two Alpine PDX Amps on the back wall of her coupe. The one for the four main speaklers is a 4 Channel 150 watt per channel amp and the other is a mono amp at 600 watts for the sub...





Being that I didn't have the amp box any more I was able to bring back out her cargo mats with her screen name on it....



I even replaced all main speakers in the car with Polk Audio Speakers rated at 300 Watts each...

In the Front I put in Polk dbs6501 Components and in the rear Polk dbs651 Coaxial..

how u likin the db's so far, i have the db651s in my DD and love em

So far love them... Had a woofer go bad when I first installed the fronts but took it back a got a new one. They do sound good... Even thinking of putting them in my vert when I do mine next week....

check out mmc6500 the momos they are being replaced by a new model and you can find the momos on ebay for aroudn 150 well worth the money

You are so doing my Z06's system. Infact I think it will be the first mod I will do to it AFTER twin turbo and built 427

I ordered an 8120 as well, it should be here next week. I didn't know that I needed to fab up brackets. Good to know.

Yep as far as I know any double din to go into a C5 will need them....

The 8120 ROCKS I love mine. Especially with the Back up camer Oak did for me. I love it. I hooked up the IPOD thru a Spec Dock in the factory cup holder. It works Great. I just need to load all my CDs.

Fred, What about movies from the Ipod. I get Audio when I play a movie but no video. With my 7100 movies worked like a charm... Parking brake line grounded.

Ok in mine with the parking brake grounded it plays the DVD. So I guess the issue is with the IPOD and Kenwood... I have an email into their tech support and waiting on an answer...
