Default flip out eclipse headunit with separate brain. where to mount in a C5?

A viper and fellow vette friend of mine (vettethret) sold me his Eclipse flip out headunit for dirt cheap. My buddy (who has done many audio installs) is doing/helping me with the install. The headunit has a separate "brain" that id say is roughly 7" by 15".

Vettethret mounted the "brain" of the system under the seat in his viper but i'd rather not remove the seat and deal with all that. It seems like i could mount it behind the drivers seat. I was wondering if any one else has had a unit like this and where they mounted the brain?

Thanks

I just had a shop install a Kenwood flip-out unit and garmin navigation.

He installed the brain and navigation module under the passenger seat. It's a good place because it's very easy to get to the inputs on the brain and the navi unit to update maps and such.

Yea.. seat had to come out. It's a really clean place to put it though because it's completely hidden and out of the way and if you need to run something to the inputs, your cable will be very short.

Ill see if I can go take a pic right now.

EDIT:

removing the seat is really easy, just four bolts. make sure to cover up the metal parts when you remove it so you dont scratch anything
