alternator whine?? need help please

Okay guys, got a whine that is killing me. Where and what do I look for. Its an afternarket system, powered sub and MTX amp.

Let me know what else you need to know to help me out

It's a ground loop. Double check your grounds, though preferably there is a single ground point for all of the equipment. If your grounds looks good then you might want to try a ground loop isolator, plugging it inline on the RCA's. They can be had at Radio Shack.

model numbers, how its hooked up, where your wires are ran, and where its grounded

it could be bad wiring or the amp. My friend installed a kicker amp in his car and there was so much whine. We replaced it with a JL (same wires, just swapped amps) and the whine went away.

You could use a noise filter too..
