Default Problems with subwoofer

I recently installed my stereo in my '02 coupe. Everything is working for the most part, with the exception of the subwoofer adjustments in my AVIC-F900BT. They don't do anything. I can't even turn the sub off. I have everything wired to a JL Audio 500/5 amp. I can't change the subwoofer level, polarity, or frequency going to sub. However, if I turn on the high pass filter for the front and rear speakers, it blocks the bass from the sub as well. Anyone have any idea what's going on here?

I would look at your configuration menu first.

Then I would disconnect everything except the subwoofer feed from the unit to the amp to see if that you in fact have that wired correctly.

Sounds like you have a right or left ch. mistakenly wired to the sub.

Sounds to me like you have the sub amp wired to the 'rear' RCA's instead of the 'sub' RCA's.

Fixed it. Wiring was all correct, but there is a switch on the amp that has "Front - F/R - Ind." settings. Switching it to independent fixed it. Now I can start tuning it to how I want it.
