Default Can I tap into the front subs to get a signal on a C5? (Results aith pics inside)

I have a diamond audio sub and PPI amp sitting around so, I'm thinking of putting it in the C5.

Without buying a fancy PAC adapter is it possible to get a signal from the front door speakers and run it through a level converter to get an RCA signal for the sub amp?

ok similar to the c6 you need to splice rca ends onto these wires, this is the smaller plug on the back of the radio

RF+ lite grn/blk
LF+ tan/blk
LR+ brn
RR+ dk blue

common lt blue

Thanks! Just saved me some $$ on that PAC adapter, and I hear they can have some serious roll off on the low end

I'll post up pics/results as soon as I'm done. I'll probably be making a stealth box for the sub by next week.

Its all in and working. I need to get a few more feet of ground wire so I can move the amp to the back wall, and make all my connections final.

The sub still lives in a wedge box that just takes up space now, I have to build a stealth enclosure.

Getting line level from the headunit went well following pentavolvo's instructions. I ran enough RCA's for 4 channels but I only spliced in the rears. I took a few pics.

The harness behind teh head unit with the quick taps

The RCA cables I cut up and put quick connect ends on to get the signal. They run under the console and up over the waterfall right to where the amp is now. I'll probably have a signal processor behind the passenger they will run to later on.

Grounded the amp in the passenger side door post.

All connections made, put the radio in for a test run.

i will be doing a howto writeup with pics and there is also a harness available for liek 10 bucks that you just have to splice rca's onto so you dont have to touch factory wiring and u just plug harness in

Which harness is this? I'm 2-3 weeks out from installing my system and would like to order this instead of splicing any of my factory wiring. I have read mixed reviews on the PAC adapter and had ruled this out.

first off the pac adapter works great yes i realize they did testing on it in the c6 and found it boosting or cutting frequencies which im sure it does in the c5 as well, but with that said i used to use them in c5s all the time and never a problem

only place ive ever found the harness at and conveniently someone i order form a lot
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+ADD-VET1.html

you cut the one end off and splice the rca connectors in and then plug it in inline leaving only a remote wire to splice
