Default Is my ED amp dead?

NINe.2X

I installed this amp for my sister about 1.5 yrs ago and it WAS working just fine. I had a chance a couple of weeks ago to take her car for a spin and to my surprise there was no bass from the sub. She didn't even realize this so I'm not sure when or how this happened .

I checked the fuse under the hood and the fuse on the amp and they all look fine. I got out the voltmeter to check if there was power going into the amp. Regarding the fuse holder on the power wire from the battery - from the battery to the fuse shows ~12V, after the fuse going to the amp shows no power ~1-2V. So there's no power going into the amp. I then took out the 2 fuses on the amp, now the voltmeter indicates ~12V power before and after the fuse from the battery. With the fuse back in the amp, it shows no power.

I not real good with audio stuff so this is really annoying to me. The amp is less than 2 yrs old. What should I look for or test out? Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

IMO its not the amp but I could be wrong. It may be a loose connection and with the fuses in the amp it trys to draw power and thats why your voltage drops down to 1-2 volts because it cant get any current. Id check for solid connections at the amp, a solid ground, and open your fuse holder to check for solid connections and no corrosion going in and out. Worst case call ED they have good customer support and i bet you are still under warranty
