Default Front Speaker Choices?

I ordered Elemental Designs eDi 6000s v.2 System from subthump.com a few days ago. I was notified this afternoon that it is on back order and was told I would be refunded for it. I am currently looking for similar or better front component system. What are my choices?

Thanks

They are back about a month. They are well worth the money though. But since you prly need speakers now either check out woofersetc and get some CDT Cl's, the EDIs were designed off these or hop on ebay and grab the polk db6501

I do not have these in my car yet, so I can't tell you exactly how good they are, but I read a lot of reviews and ended up with:

JL Audio C5 650's one of the many reasons I went this way is that they can handle the 150 watts that I want to feed them

Those speakers look Really Nice for the money!

I must add another vote for CDT's. With the silk tweeter, they are Smooth!

You can also get the Ti tweeter, which is what I have, but it depends on the music that you listen to. I also added the CDT pillar tweeters, to get more staging in the front.

GREAT pricing for the CDT's (and an Authorized Dealer too for warranty).................

Good Luck Nouman!

Its funny CDT Cls were the first components I ever had and loved em haha. Now looking back after working with some more high end stuff they arent as sweet as they were back in the day. Then again I had a sealed 10 in my camaro on 450rms and it was the LOUDEST ever lol

I liked my CDTs a lot back in the day, too. I can't stand them now, though. Muddy, lacking any clarity, and the tweeters always sound strained and not composed.

Nnow I know that their game is to repaint/rebadge and possibly slightly modify vifa/tymphany low cost speakers and then pump the price up... I doubt I'll try them again.

Which component speakers would you recommend that won't break the bank (in the same price range as the CDT's or the speakers that Nouman's looking at)?

Thanks!

Default Update!

I got a call from Elemental Designs this morning. The 6000s are now discontinued and will never be made. They are coming out with new series but it will take 2 months to be available for sale. They will be more expensive and better quality according to ED.

I am still looking for some front speakers. Anybody has any more suggestions? Price is not an issue here.

Thanks guys.

BTW, Rob(LuvmyC5), thank you for your reply

I ran these for a while and was very impressed, too bad they are no longer available. They are virtually the CDT HD62s

Rob already installed double din, Ipod, rear camera, bluetooth and all the works a couple months ago. Time to upgrade the speakers and add an amp

I already got rear speakers, amp, woofer, woofer box wiring, mounting plates etc. I just need the front speakers so I can commence the install.

It sounds like you've got a plan! Please keep us posted on how it turns out! From the sounds of it, you're running two amps? I just put one big one in and bridged it for the sub and 125w for each front conponent. It sounds Great for me, but if you're looking for A boomer of a system, then two amps is the way to go. Just make sure that the power is clean and not giving you alot of distortion. I found out that alot depends on how you set the amp settings.

I used a PPi amp, which worked out well for me, but it's HUGE. That made mounting it on the rear firewall impossible, so I mounted it behind on the floor on 3/4" mdf and then made an amp rack covered in black vinyl/leather. I think that it turned out nicely ( especially for me doing it ).

Good Luck Buddy and Please keep us posted!

Thanks buddy. PM me some pics when you get a chance. I will PM you my exact setup all I have so far. Of course, the sound system will be awesome by the time I will be done (just like the rest of my car ).

Still looking for front speakers though
