I have a 98 coupe. I'm adding a 4 channel amp and replacing all my speakers, but keeping the stock head unit (thus the need for the PAC interface).
My question is "what's the correct way to install this interface?". On the back of the stock radio...left side, there are two female connectors plugged in. One is a 4 pin and one is a 9 pin. The 9 pin obviously gets disconnected, and the 9 pin on the interface gets plugged into that spot. Should the 4 pin remain connected to the radio? I unplugged it, reasoning that it was speaker output, but my amp isn't giving any signal for the left side speakers. I'll plug it back in and see if that's the problem when I get home later this week.
I'd just like some advice from someone that's "been there, done that".

Thanks.
Note that PAC says "Factory BOSE EQ can not be retained, optional tweeters needed to retain high frequencies"

Does that mean the stock 9 pin connector (socket) removed from the radio gets plugged back in to the 9 pin (receiver w/pins) on the interface cable? I figured since I'm not running the stock speakers, I didn't need to plug that one back in.

Turn all the interface gains all the way up, and then adjust the gain on the amp to fine tune the speaker output???
Got that one covered. I'm running Infinity components up front.
I'm assuming the BOSE EQ means the auto tune button that cycles between settings for jazz, pop, etc.
I recently replaced my Bose HU with a Kenwood DNX7120 and used the ROEM-VET1 and lost much of the high frequencies that I had before (I stuck with the Bose speakers front and rear because I'm one of those weirdos who thinks the Bose system sounds pretty good!).
I've been able to compensate a bit with the Kenwood's graphic equalizer but it still isn't quite there. I'm going to add some tweeters.
I don't know if you got your PAC working with that rockford amp or not but I tried for days to get mine to work with it and it would not... Hooked up an infinity amp and bam it worked.... Tried the rockford in another car with aftermarket H/U, and it worked..... No idea what the problem is/was.

Let me know :thumb:
I did get it to work. I plugged the 9 pin (connector with sockets) from the PAC cable into the back of the radio, and plugged the the connector from the stock harness that came out of the radio into the other 9 pin (connector with pins) on the PAC cable. The 4 pin connector that I'd previously left unhooked from the radio, I plugged back in.
Also, keep in mind-with the same bunch of wires from the PAC that plug into the radio, there's a single wire that has to be spliced into a dk. green wire that goes into the wire harness on the right rear of the radio. There was a tag on the wire that said which wire to connect it to. If I remember right, the dk. green wire goes into pin 8 of that connector on the back of the radio. If you pull off the connector and look at the end of it, each pin should have a tiny number next to it.

Hope that makes sense.
It was kind of odd... Even if said amp was not connected to anything but power and ground the entire radio lost all treble. Disconnect power from the amp and bam it would start working. I ended up giving up on it and just got an Infinity amp. Works really well
