Don´t know if you´re still interested:
Just got mine installed and loving it!
iPod, BT, navigation, rear camera, DVB-T (don´t know how you call it, it´s inCar-TV), brilliant display, great sound (OK, also got Alpine digital amp, Eton- subwoofers and high speakers and the doors are now around 10 pounds heavier due to damping materials).
Would do it again in a sec!

I installed a 505 in my truck. It replaced a 205 and so far is a better unit functionally. The only issue I have with it is Alpine's decision to use a proprietary optical jack instead of a standard TOSLINK. Alpine hasn't released the cable yet (reportedly $90+), but there's word a Panasonic cable works in its place.

The pana cable works, getting harder to find.
Im doing 1 in my Srt8 Magnum But im Stuck on if i should do the Imprint Processor or the 701. What has me on the fence is the Front 3way System. on the 701 i can utilize the 701's Xover cause i am bi-amping the 3 way setup. on the imprint processor i will have a 3way xover out of the 505 so i can do a low/mid/hi setup and still biamp the 3way setup but i have to y off the rears.
So im on the fence.

I have it installed. Just finished the speaker replacments
I have just completed my second phase of 3 for my install. The first one was to replace the nav with the IVA-W505. Nice head unit but it was missing some things that I thought would be there. For instance, I really liked the pulse screen on the 202. Early descriptions said that they 505 would have it as well...but after install, no pulse screen. I was also looking for voice command. No voice command either.
The second phase was to get rid of the Blose speakers and put in my alpine speakers that I had in my c5 and add the sound/heat matting from exoticvettes.com. The sound is amazing. I haven't even put in my subs yet and the quality is much better. I only have Alpine SPS-17 components in the front and Alpine SPS-500's for the rear with a 4 channel alpine amp. I swear there is more sub now than with the premium Bose system that was in there.
My next phase is to build some kind of a box to hold my 2 10' Diamond subs. They are currently in a c5 stealth box that I need to get rid of.
All in all the IVA-W505 sounds great. I cannot use the hands free mic due to road noise even after the damping. I need to try and find a solution for that. Noise cancellation mic or something. Any ideas would be helpful.

I have a w505 in my c6 , great head unit.. The only problem I'm having is when I hook up my ipod, the music comes over the speakers for about 3-4 seconds then goes silent..Anyone have any ideas as to what would be causing this??
