Default quick question on a new head unit

im looking for a new head unit, and i cant seem to find a real definitive answer for my one question.

does preamp voltage really make that big of difference?

im looking at a couple units right now, a few Eclipses, mainly the cd5000s (8v preamp) and a few Alpines (2-3v preamp)

ill be running everything off an amp (xtant A4004) and my RCAs are Knuknoceptz Krystal Kables.

before i was told more voltage the better, then im finding others that say less is better, and then others that say preamp makes even less of a difference when you use quality cables.

Honestly dont worry about it. Ive done the 2 volt, to 8volt basically its just diff setting on your gain. In theory less noise with highervoltage but liek you said quality cables. Your not competing in SQ so dont worry about it. I bet a large sum of money you couldnt tell the difference between the two

probably not, especially after i throw a set of chambered exhaust on this thing. i just wanted to make sure i was going to get a bunch of distortion by going with the lower voltage.
