Default Gathering some audio ideas/oppinions for C4 1987 Vette

"Speakers"

Ok guys i just recently got my first C4 corvette. I am in the process of ripping out the bose system completely and starting out fresh which gets me to my topic. To all the C4 owners out there any ideas on speaker size selection for doors and front dash? Now im kinda in a budget spot where i dont want to spend a ton and get the most expensive, but id like good clear cranking power with a touch of bass. I'm doing VR690 6x9 in the rear. What would work best in the doors? also where could i get some adapters to fit bigger speakers such as 6.5" components.

"Sub/s?"
I dont plan on putting subs in my corvette unless someone is selling a fairly priced custom C4 sub box that is hidden away in the compartments.

"Custom dash"
Ive been pondering the idea of buying the fox dash kit from ecklers and fabricating a 7" screen into the dash on the passenger side to accomodate my JVC Exad navigation dvd player. Has anyone seen this done?

Again im glad to be a part of this forum and thanks for the help/advice in advance!
One more thing also, if any of you have some pictures of your installs or fabrications involving C4 audio upgrades etc. please post up or email me at jrhop84@yahoo.com

You build the adapters for 6.5s. What are you spending?

Check the following brands for front stage:

CDT
Boston
JL Audio
Polk Audio
Alpine
Focal

As for the rear and the lack of a sub, loose the 6x9s, you don't need them, then get a pair of 8" subs. Problem solved.

I would seriously look for a set of 3-way components... or make some... I have a feeling that a nice 6.5" midbass in the door and a pair of something like 4" 2-ways in the dash would rock and rock great.

One other thing, the doors on a C4 work like a 160hz resonance chamber. You will want to deaden the doors a bunch and perhaps even get a notch filter to bring that frequency down a couple of dB.
