I am going to be buying a 2009 4LT Corvette next year and I looked at the OEM Navigation (and OEM 6-Disc Radio). What a disapointment! So I was thinking of going aftermarket, and I've looked around here and gotten some pretty good info but I'd like to solicit feedback on what I am planning. So here it goes...
I want to base my sound system on the Alpine IVA-W205 Touch Screen Double Din Display with the optional Blackbird Navigation (Alpine PMD-B200) and the following add-ons:
Bluetooth (KCE-300BT), even though the Blackbird comes with it I prefer the stand alone unit.
iPod Cable (KCE-422i)
HD Radio (TUA-T500HD)
XM Radio (XMD1000)
Of course I want to retain my factory speakers, chimes, and steering wheel controls so I am looking at the following PAC accessories:
It's not overboard to me since that's very close to what I run now in my truck and will also run in my '06. The differences being I have Sirius instead of XM and do not have HD radio.
My advice... the standalone BT module ain't worth the $200. If you think you're gonna get the Blackbird eventually then just buy it and save your $$ on that standalone module. The Blackbird's BT support is just a hair better than the standalone, though both are poor.
BTW, unless they change something for 09 the OS2-BOSE is the wrong module for C6. Get the Peripheral GMCO if you don't have Onstar, the GMAH24 & GMCHM if you do.

According to PAC the OS2-BOSE is for C6 Corvettes thru 2007 with OnStar, I assume nothing has changed in 2008 (and thus 2009)
Don't bother with the Bluetooth module..................get the Blackbird. I love my W205 and have all the options you descibed. I probably wouldn't do the HD module now either as it has some quirks. All in all I'm happy with everything else. I need the Blackbird though.

Also what would you recommend for Bluetooth?
When I use their app guide it says C2R-GM24 not OS2-Bose. I see where it shows it under the OS2-Bose info, but I suspect that is incorrect. Since there hasn't been any change to the radio systems since the C6 began I can't see how that would have changed. The C6 still uses the old Serial Data Bus. Regardless, I know the Peripherals work and I recommend them(GMAH24B and GMACM for Onstar).
The Blackbird B200 has Bluetooth support. When it's docked in the 205 the radio uses the Blackbird's Bluetooth. The Blackbird comes with an external mic that plugs into the 205.

I just double checked.
It seems the GMAH24 is from Peripheral and the OS2-BOSE is from PAC
So the Blackbird does come with a Mic? I see. Hmm. I am also thinking I don't need HD Radio, but it sounds cool.
They are similar devices in function, yes, but the OS2-Bose has NEVER been for Corvette. Stick with the Peripheral, I know those work.
Blackbird does come with a mic, yes. I can't stand commercial radio, so HD radio isn't an issue to me. If you want true quality audio don't count on FM of any sort, including HD Radio, go to CD or DVD-Audio (which the 205 plays).
