I thought I read that there was a trick to this before, but I can't seem to find it.
I just pulled my dash apart again to connect the GXM30 antenna wire (grumble, somehow I missed this the first time...), and it appears to be enabled now (I can get stock prices from the NAV menus). However, the "Sat" button on the main source screen does not appear. Is there a setup option that I haven't found to enable that button? And if not, how the heck do I get to my XM Radio stations?!
Sorry, disregard that previous post. I thought you were talking about enabling the NAV button and not the SAT button. The NAV icon didn't appear when I first installed mine and I had to enable it.
I do not have the GXM30, but had the terk/kenwood direct hook-up. So mine is a little different than yours. I believe that since you have the Navitraffic, the only way to look at your channels is to go through the GPS Navigation screen.
-- Push the Nav button (not the Nav icon on the screen, but the NAV button on the bottom row).
-- Once you pull up the Navigation system, select TOOLS, and then select XM.
-- This will pull up your Radio ID and you should be able to then setup your account, stocks, weather, etc.

Well, I got the XM working. And as best as I can tell, there is not going to be any Sat button on my main Source panel. To get to the XM controls, it seems you must (as you said) go through the Nav system. :\
One thing that is kinda nice though. By enabling the Nav source button, I can at least hear the audio for the last XM channel I was tuned to. It doesn't take me to the XM control screen, but since 98% of the time that I listen to XM I am listening to 1 station, that is almost good enough.
