Default My DNX7100... finally got here!

After tracking down FedEx today, i got my DNX7100... I'll add pics to the first post, but so far... this is all I have. Should be a good setup! Install is going in tonight!

Head Unit:
Kenwood DNX7100
Amp
JL Audio 500/5
Speakers
Focal Polyglass 6.5 Components (Doors)
Focal Polyglass 5.25 Coax (Rear)
Sub Woofer
JL 8w3 or 8w7 in a forward firing ported box. Probably fiberglassed into one of the corners. This part is not in concrete.

QUESTIONS I HAVE RIGHT NOW
1. Do I just not hook up the Parking Switch Wire to access the nav and play DVD while moving?

2. Where is the reverse wire on a C5 to use for back up camera?

What size is your sub?

You should really put up pics of the sub install. The JL stealthbox is way too expensive.

No reason to hook up the parking brake wire. Last I heard the budget for the "parking wire" cops was cut.

I read others have run straight back to the tail lamps for this hook up. I would think you might be able to find it in the passenger side foot well where the fuse box and wires are though.

Where did you put the rear camera?

Hi 5W0P3,

Hope the install is going well. I took the console/bezel out tonight and will do my install on Saturday.

You can simply ground the parking brake wire if you want. The parking brake wire is grounded when the parking brake is engaged.

I believe the reverse wire (receives power when in reverse) is primarily for the backup camera.

Where are ya'll mounting the Nav antenna? Mine was just under my console in the garage and was picking up full signal!

Also, i stuck a DVD in just to see it, and it starts playing, but can't see any video. Guess i'll have to read the owners manual.

As of 2:48am.... 5 hours later i believe.

ground the parking break wire and reverese wire unless you have a backup camera isnt needed. if you do have a backup camera running to the reverse light is the easiest place to go. Also just curious how are you mounting your radio in the dash.

As far as getting sound but no display click one of the buttons in the lower right i beleive something like v.select and it will change the video display

I do have a backup camera, so now i have to figure out which light goes off that. I saw someone on a c6 just went to a fuse panel and put in a "add a fuse" kinda thing with a lead on it, that looked pretty easy.

As far as mounting it, i found some corrugated "L" brackets in my tool box and it was like they were made to fit. The radio comes with a pretty good size of black plastic trim ring they say is for GM's, but I don't think they intended it for this GM

Hopefully if all goes well, this is done today.

The back up camera has the same wire as the radio as far as reverse lights, do they both get hooked to the same wire?

I think the parking needs to be grounded for it to work. I'm working on it again right now.

For the reverse camera, there is a green wire and a black wire, do I hook the reverse lead from the radio and the Camera to the black wire?
