c4 bose to nonbose

I have a '90 with the factory bose system. I would like to keep the original head unit and replace the bose receiver with a nonbose receiver and regular speakers. Will the bose head plug in and work with the nonbose receiver?

I just wanted to double check, because the FAQ section did not seem 100% sure.

The FAQ is 100% sure. Swap the receiver and your golden.
